School and QP Freebie!

School started back today. It makes me kinda sad. I've enjoyed having my kids around this summer. As I drug myself out of bed before 6 this morning in order to get the kids to school by 7:15 a.m., I thought back to when I was a kid. What happened to summer? We go back to school now in the middle of the hottest part of the year. We should be out on the lake swimming and outside playing until dark, catching fireflies, and enjoying the warm weather. I want three months of summer. What ever happened to going back to school the day after Labor Day and ending it Memorial Day weekend? Our kids don't get the chance to be kids. They go to school at the crack of dawn, come home late afternoon with so much homework, there's no time left to be kids. I hope you can excuse my ranting, but it's just not right!

We did have a wonderful last weekend of summer. We had Emily's birthday party. I cooked a huge meal and then yesterday, we went swimming at the lake before we came home to pack up backpacks and get ready to go back to school. I didn't have much time to scrapbook, but I did make another quickpage.

This page is designed using Doris' kit "Black & White" that she so sweetly gave as a freebie from her blog
http://tempusfug.blogspot.com/ She has another great freebie going on right now, so be sure to stop by her page and remember to leave her some love!

It's almost the Weekend for me!

Working a job just Mon - Thurs means my weekend starts at 4:30 this afternoon! Woooo Hoooo!!! It's been a crazy week and I'm so ready for a relaxing three days. I don't have internet at home, so I'll be working on my scrapbooking and will hopefully have some fun things to post on Monday. Emily's birthday is tomorrow, so we'll be having a birthday party Saturday night. School for my two starts on Monday, so Saturday morning will be spent back to school shopping...hmmmm...maybe I'd rather be at work! lol

Scrapbooking

I haven't had much time to scrapbook lately. I finally got a couple of pages done last night! The picture above is from the tulip garden in Nashville, TN
I used to have so much fun taking pictures when Deanna played dress up! I miss the cute little girl stage....She's a beautiful young lady now, but 13 year olds just don't think it's cool to play in mommy's clothes!

Helen, Georgia

This weekend we took Deanna and Emily to Helen, GA. We had such a wonderful time. They really enjoyed all the cool shops and especially the Hansel & Gretel Candy Shop! We took a carriage ride through town. The horse's name was "Duke" and the girls loved it. The said it was their very favorite part of the whole trip. We also hiked to Anna Ruby Falls in the Unicoi State Park. It was a beautiful morning and the falls were gorgeous.

This picture of the falls was taken last time Doug and I went. The sun was so bright on the waterfall this weekend, that I didn't get any really good pictures :(
