Medical Terms and Teenager!

So, I learned a very important lesson this week. If your teenage son asks to help you study your flashcards, you really should have them memorized well enough to know to take out the ones that mean private area body parts. Or at least tell him he can't help you in the middle of Wendy's. The WHOLE restaurant got to hear him yell "OH MY GOSH!" as he then turned red and started laughing hysterically. On the bright side, I have the meaning of that word downpat now!!! LOL

Mom's Know Best!

Well, I never thought I'd be able to tell my mom "thank you" for making me take two years of Latin in high school. I thought I would NEVER have a use for it and have always said it was a total waste of time. Boy am I glad she made me take it now! The medical transcriptionist course is very difficult, but at least I can remember some words and some of the spelling and pronunciation. Although it was years ago, I have been surprised at the few things I can remember. And, at this point, every little bit helps. My brain is on total overload with all the new words. And, I'm not even through the "D" words yet!!! I have a stack of flashcards an inch thick and if I can remember what half of them mean in the morning, I'll be surprised!

Hopefully, I will get a chance to download my camera tomorrow....beach pictures! I miss it already!

Whew!

Now, my question to myself is...why did I ever start a blog? When am I ever going to have time to keep up with this too! It's been a whirlwind couple of weeks for me. I feel like I'm going non stop. Deanna is doing great with volleyball. Timothy is doing well in school. We were finally able to get my husband a new car (his old one had over 310,000 miles on it and was falling apart). We got a really good deal on a little Mazda Miata. The two of us took a mini vacation this weekend and took our little red convertible to Myrtle Beach. It was SO awesome. The ocean was gorgeous. We had a balcony overlooking the beach adn left the door open all night, falling asleep to the sound of the waves crashing on shore. It was such a relaxing fun weekend. Doug works so hard (7 days a week, most of the time 14 hours a day) and it was so good for him to be able to take a couple of days and have absolutely nothing he had to do.

I didn't take my computer with me, so last night I had a ton of emails waiting on me. I received my school info and was able to start my studies last night! So, now, I have to find time for 20 hours of school a week. I think I can, I think I can, I think I can!

Busy Busy Busy

Well, I haven't had any time for blogging lately. Life has been very hectic. Deanna joined the volleyball team and Timothy is a junior in high school. We've been running like crazy the last few weeks. I've started working out with my new Wii Fit. I've set some realistic goals and I'm hoping I can stick with it! I applied for a scholarship and I'm praying that I get it. I should hear back within the next week or two. I finally have internet at home so I can keep up with email and scrapbooking better now...IF, I can stay off the Wii long enough!!! LOL
